Computer, eWaste, & Electronics Recycling in Tacoma, WA
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, and billions of new electronics are manufactured each year. Companies of all sizes, various municipalities, and government agencies regularly handle sensitive IT assets that inevitably become obsolete or no longer useful. Placing electronic devices and equipment with regular trash ensures they will end up in a Washington landfill, where toxic elements gradually leak into the soil, groundwater, and oceans. These items may also be incinerated, releasing dangerous emissions that pose a health hazard to the community, deplete the ozone, and increase greenhouse gases.
Proper decommissioning and disposal of electronics are crucial for avoiding harmful effects on human health, protecting the environment, and minimizing corporate risk. At R3eWaste, we take our commitment to environmental responsibility seriously, and you should, too. As a certified electronics recycling center in Gig Harbor, we provide customized, fully inclusive services that allow your Tacoma business to responsibly reduce, reuse, and recycle your old electronics. We refurbish and resell any devices that have not yet reached their end of life and recycle devices that are not eligible for resale. With our help, you can make a lasting commitment to sustainability and earn extra revenue to invest in new technology.

Collect Materials
Our IT asset disposition specialists will come to your business and pick up your electronics recycling at no additional charge. We recommend allowing them to decommission your assets and equipment, but you can perform this step yourself if you prefer. Any items with secure components, such as technology from data centers or medical providers, will be disassembled on-site or upon arrival at our facility. We offer white glove pallet and wrapping services to ensure your assets remain safe during transport, then deliver your items to our recycling center. Residential clients are typically not eligible for free pick-up service and must drop off their items at our recycling center.
Sort and Track Materials
When your electronics arrive at R3eWaste, we sort, tag, and weigh every individual item to develop a detailed inventory with our industry-leading Inventory Management System (IMS). We will provide you with log-in information to access online reports that show which items will be resold and which will be recycled. You use this system to track all items as they move throughout the rest of the process, from the second they arrive until they reach their final destination. This level of transparency is not offered by any other electronics recycling company.
Secure Data Destruction
Adhering to the same standards used by the Department of Defense, our specialists erase data on all hard drives, storage devices, and data-bearing equipment. Our IT asset disposition procedure involves four separate data wipe passes – replace data with characters, replace characters with complements, fill memory addresses with zeroes, and perform a final check to ensure all data has been completely erased. We provide a serialized data-wipe certificate for each item upon request. After data destruction, we can shred or crush any items that will not be resold and send them to be broken down into raw materials for manufacturing. Items eligible for resale move onto the next step. You will either receive a certificate of destruction or a certificate of recycling for every item.
Reuse and Share Revenue
We repair, refurbish, and test any electronic devices or equipment that may be reused, appraise them, and market them to our downstream partners to sell. The revenue we collect from any sales will be reduced by one-third to cover operational costs, then half of the remainder will be returned to you. By signing up for our free Partner Program, you acquire access to a customized Dashboard Web Portal that receives data from our IMS. This allows you to easily track your items in real-time, including who purchases them and for what price. It also includes the amount you can expect to recover from the sale.
