Flat Screen TV Recycling
This holiday season many of you will be buying a new TV or maybe a new computer. So, what do you do with the old television or monitor that you'll be replacing? This is hard to believe, but many people simply throw out their old TV, which is REALLY BAD for the environment. R3eWaste provides old and broken technology recycling services.
Recycle your televisions responsibly.
Televisions can be recycled! Like many other electronics, TVs contain chemicals that, if disposed of improperly, can damage our health and the environment. Responsible TV disposal, such as professional recycling, is important to prevent these chemicals from unnecessarily polluting our air and water.
Flat screen TV's and Monitors contain some particularly nasty materials, the worst of which is mercury. A typical 40" television contains around 60 feet of thin bulbs containing mercury which is horrendously toxic.
We remove the bulbs and they are sent to a registered mercury processor. Our partner in this is Lighting Resources, LLC, the largest processor of spent lighting in the USA.
TVs do contain some valuable materials.
TV recycling can produce valuable materials that can easily be reused, including plastic, glass, copper wiring, and even precious metals. Instead of dealing with the hassle of lugging your old television to the dump only for it to be disposed of improperly, let the professionals take it off your hands.
R3eWaste will recycle your old TVs and monitors safely.
Please call for information about pricing. Due to the high mercury content, we do have to charge to recycle flat screen TVs, and these charges are based on the size and the weight of your particular TV.
